Support Al acceleration

The ESP32-S3 MCU adds vector instructions for speeding up tasks such as neural network computation and signal processing. Al developers can use these vector instructions through the ESP-DSP and ESP-NN libraries to achieve high performance applications such as image recognition, voice wake up and recognition. ESP-WHO and ESP-Skainet will also support this feature.

Perfect security mechanism

ESP32-S3 provides a comprehensive security mechanism and protection measures for iot devices to prevent all kinds of malicious attacks and threats. It supports fash encryption based on AES-XTS algorithm, secure startup based on RSA algorithm, digital signature and HMAC. The ESP32-S3 also adds a "World Controller" module, which provides two non-interfering execution environments for a trusted execution environment or permission separation mechanism.

Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 5 (LE)

The ESP32-S3 integrates 2.4GHz Wi-Fi (802.11b /g/n) and supports 40 MMHz bandwidth. Its Bluetooth Low Energy subsystem supports Bluetooth5(LE) and Bluetooth Mesh, and can communicate with broadcast extensions over long distances via Coded PHY. It also supports 2 MbpsPHY for increased transfer speed and data throughput. The ESP32-S3 has superior Wi-Fi and Bluetooth LE RF performance and stable operation at high temperatures.

Rich I/O interfaces

The ESP32-S3 has 45 programmable GPIOs and common peripheral interfaces such as SPI, I2S, I2C, PWM, RMT, ADC, UART, SD/MMC host controller and TWAITM controller. Fourteen of the GPIOs can be configured as capacitive touch inputs for HMI interactions. In addition, the ESP32-S3 is equipped with an ultra-low power coprocessor (ULP) that supports a variety of low power modes, making it suitable for a wide range of low power application scenarios.

Mature software support

ESP32-S3 follows the mature iot development framework ESP-IDF. ESP-IDF has successfully enabled hundreds of millions of iot devices through rigorous testing and release cycles with a clear and effective support strategy. With its mature software architecture and familiarity with tools and apis, it will be easier for developers to build applications or migrate legacy applications to the ESP32-S3 platform.
